宋厚冰博士访问我室开展学术交流

2017年5月24日,应我室程文驰副教授的邀请,佛罗里达代托纳海滩Embry-Riddle航空大学的助理教授宋厚冰博士来我室交流访问,并于26日上午9:30在新科技楼1012会议室做了名为“Towards Safe andSecure Cyber-Physical Systems”的专题报告。

报告中,宋厚冰博士分别从感测,计算,控制和网络(“Cyber”)四个方面介绍了网络物理系统(CPS),并通过两个代表性的项目说明了CPS的设计验证以及安全性的实现。在第一个项目中,宋博士向我们介绍了当前研究的应用于早期检测“脓血症”的医疗CPS,由于该病症的特殊性,当医生意识到患者是脓血症并开始治疗时已为时已晚。于是针对脓血症的早期检测,宋博士及其团队设计了一种自适应的网络物理系统,将动态贝叶斯网络与自动机相结合,根据患者生命体征在自动机的状态来调整脓血症的筛查频率。随着生命体征的减弱逐渐加强脓血症的检测频率,从而更早地确认患者是否得了脓血症。该项目中,如何构建和验证可预测、可靠、安全的CPS成为一个不可避免的挑战。

接着,在第二个项目中,宋博士又与我们探讨了“如何开发策略与技术应对CPS的安全威胁”这一问题。身份验证作为确保紧急响应CPS的服务,其扩展性是一大挑战。于是宋博士提出了“以云为中心,多级认证的服务”,在分层认证的同时实现轻量化,防止CPS受到恶意攻击。最后宋博士就网络安全中“确保物联网”与“CPS安全科学”两大区进行总结与憧憬。

在提问互动环节中,宋博士与在场师生积极互动,耐心地向大家答疑解惑,受到同学们的一致好评。

【专家简介】HoubingSongreceived the Ph.D. degree inelectrical engineering from the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, VA, inAugust 2012.

In 2017, he joined the Department of Electrical, Computer,Software, and Systems Engineering, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University,Daytona Beach, FL, where he is currently anAssistant Professor and the Director of the Security and Optimizationfor Networked Globe Laboratory (SONG Lab,www.SONGLab.us). He served on the faculty of the Department of Electrical andComputer Engineering, West Virginia University, Montgomery, WV, and as theFounding Director of West Virginia Center of Excellence for Cyber-PhysicalSystems sponsored by West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission, from2012 to 2017. In 2007 he was an Engineering Research Associate with the TexasA&M Transportation Institute. He is the editor of four books, includingSmart Cities: Foundations, Principles and Applications, Hoboken, NJ: Wiley, 2017,Security and Privacy in Cyber-Physical Systems: Foundations, Principles andApplications, Chichester, UK: Wiley-IEEE Press, 2017, Cyber-Physical Systems:Foundations, Principles and Applications, Boston, MA: Academic Press, 2016, andIndustrial Internet of Things: Cybermanufacturing Systems, Cham, Switzerland:Springer, 2017. He is the author of more than 100 articles. His researchinterests include cyber-physical systems, internet of things, edge computing,big data analytics, connected vehicle, and wireless communications andnetworking.

Dr. Song is a seniormember of IEEE and a member of ACM. Dr. Song was the very first recipient ofthe Golden Bear Scholar Award, the highest faculty research award at WestVirginia University Institute of Technology (WVU Tech), in 2016.
